No card catalogue or late fees for this amicable neighborhood hang, a community gem with shhh ripped from its vocabulary; opinions scribbled inside the back cover appreciated by the indecisive erased by the opposition, like the first Lovely Bones assessment, Disturbing it screamed. Some viewed it a fair judgment considering the painful subject, but the second reader who was not ninety years old or misguided by the word Lovely afforded Alice Sebold a fighting chance and invited once forbidden conversation about prickly topics− a welcomed departure from nice weather we’re having.
